BLACK AND WHITE

Tonight I was lucky enough to see 'South Pacific' with my Mum, Gran and Step-Nanna. We went out for cocktails and dinner before at the Hilton Hotel, and let me tell you this...their service was absolutely shocking! You'd think for a five star hotel they'd at least have the money to train staff well and be able to update their website which clearly said the Collins Bar was open, even though staff claimed it was shut until mid January.

Despite this I had a brilliant cocktail called 'Summer Breeze,' and a vegetarian club sandwich that went down a treat. My Mum had a Kiwi cocktail which came out with half a kiwi fruit with flames. It looked awesome but we had to be careful not to let our hair catch fire...imagine that!

We then jumped into a taxi and were driven to the Festival Centre for the musical. The taxi driver was a douche and didn't drive into the drive way of the centre like we asked, instead saying we could walk down the hill. How rude! I would like to see him try to tackle a hill with heels.

Getting off topic here, but the musical was fantastic. Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes are like milk and oreos, the perfect combination. Their chemistry is on fire (hehe) and their voices, well I could listen to it all day. Christine Anu did a fabulous job of Bloody Mary and Blake Bowden as Lieutenant Cable had me clapping my hands very enthusiastically, especially when his shirt found its way to the floor. I didn't just perv on him the whole time though I swear, I found the character Billis, played by the talented Mitchell Butel to be quite comical and entertaining.

Overall the performance was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it to musical theatre enthusiasts.

I wore A silk Zara blouse, which I actually almost sold a few months ago but at the last minute returned to to the overflowing hanging space in my wardrobe. I also wore my new black Bardot blazer which is such a flattering design.
