GREASE IS THE WORD

If anyone reading this has not seen or can not name at least five songs from the musical/ movie 'Grease'... GET OUT YOU UNEDUCATED WEIRDO! I kid really but srsly, do yourself a favour and at least watch the movie, Johnny Travolta was a complete STUD!

The other night, my best friend, her BF, her mum, her sis, my mother and myself went out for cocktails at the Sebel before treating ourselves to the grooviness that is Grease the Musical. Of course being Carrie Bradshaw I had a cosmopolitan while we caught up on what had been happening over the last week or so.

The musical was fabulous, so bright, energetic, funny, ROB MILLS YOUR HOT, catchy and boy was Todd McKenney a star or what? For the five minutes that teen angel was in Grease, Todd sure showed the difference between an actor and a star through the audiences reception of him, they went absolutely wild! I loved John Paul Young's little two lines from 'Love is in the air' he snuck in during the finale, twas a pretty cool crossover. Burt Newton was charming, as was the actor who portrayed Kenickie. I didn't think much of the actress who played Sandy though, she was a little dull and looked out of place and awkward compared to the other characters.

Overall it was a great night and I was totally ready to bust into the nearest night club and pull my best grease lightning/ hand jive/ beauty school drop out dance moves.

PAPER HEART

Before I went away to New York I promised myself I would not buy any more clothes. Yeah well that failed because when I popped into Wild Child (for a look) I found this amazing skirt and the jumper also. Half an hour later I was half scolding and half high-fiving myself.

MOVES LIKE JAGGAR

Ever since I received this Jaggar 'Riders on the Storm' Far Out tee from Kirsty Irwin it has been my go-to shirt for any occasion. I love how it just oozes, 'model-off-duty' and can be thrown over a pencil skirt, shorts, jeans and it looks especially bad-ass especially over leather.

I wore it out this morning to brunch with some of my best girlfriends and paired it with these Cotton On pants and Sportsgirl boots which I have literally been wearing to the death. On the way back to the car we found this rad wall and couldn't resist doing a quick outfit post.

NEW YORK WISHLIST

I can hardly contain my excitement! Why may you ask? Well in just under 40 days I will be jetting off to the Big Apple/ City that NEVER sleeps for the adventure of a lifetime. So as I am counting down the days I thought I'd share just the start of my wish/lust list for New York. Warning - contains excessive amounts of Alexander Wang and Givenchy!

GIVENCHY! At the top of my list is this Givenchy Medium Antigona Bag! I've seen it on the arms of so many celebrities and I would really love to own something like this….even if it is a disgusting amount of money!

T by Alexander Wang Stripe Rayon Linen Long Sleeve Tee - just coz'.

T by Alexander Wang Muscle Tank - I just love Alexander Wang and his line because it is very boyish-model-of-duty-slight-grungey.

T by Alexander Wang Boatneck Dress With Pocket - This would be cute for summer and I could style it up with sky highs from Louboutin or dress it down with some sandals and a cuffed denim jacket.

Tiffany and Co Infinity Ring - I have been lusting on this ring for a very long time as I recently had one of these from Sportsgirl but it broke after about a month…RIP ring and sorry but this one is going to kick yo ass.

Tiffany and Co 1837 Ring - Another classic piece from Tiffany and Co which I am very keen to get my claws on.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Moto Satchel - practical, badass…need I say more?

Balenciaga Snakeskin Clutch - yep. I need this in my life.

More exciting wishlist items to come, stay tuned!

PUMPED UP KICKS

Sports-luxe, a trend I have been very keen but cautious to try because I have only ever seen stick thin girls pull it off. I recently purchased these amazing fake leather track pants which have been popping up all over fashion week and in magazines. Lucy, from the blog 'Lovely by Lucy' did a post with some of them a while back and I just admired how she looked so relaxed and carefree in them. The great thing about these pants is that apart from being super comfy, they can be dressed down or dressed up with some high heels. I tried them on with my Louboutins and decided that they will be included in my next party outfit. Someone hurry up and have a birthday already!

For uni if I am feeling flat, tired and irritated (aka Tuesdays) these pants look great with an oversized tee or long sleeve jumper paired with Nikes or sneaker wedges ('snedges' as I refer to them as)

IN MY CLOSET - HANNAH'S HAPPENINGS

Hannah is the smart, sassy and stylish owner of Hannah's Happenings, (Previously 'The H Way'). She credits old and classic music styles as her main inspiration when styling and outfit. 'Get me a cosmo' chats to Hannah about her wonderful wardrobe.

Who is your style icon?
Audrey Hepburn & Nicole Richie
Inspiration: from music i love (jazz and 60's soul), watching old movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's and Pretty Woman.

If you could use 3 words to describe your style, what would they be?
 Eclectic, modern and vintage

Do you prefer Winter of Summer fashions?
i love the "breathability" of summer clothing, but the layering options in winter have to be my ultimate favourite!

What is the best bargain you have ever found?
a pair of leather slip on sneakers from forever21 for only $35! I was about to be over $200 for an identical pair elsewhere!

Biggest indulgence purchase to date?
i'm in college so these do NOT come often, haha, but my big tori burch leather bag ($600)

HANNAH'S TOP TEN (More like 20!):
Shoes: Sam Edelman "petty" booties (goes with EVERYTHING in every season!)
Dress: Fossil "edie" shift dress (mine has the most adorable lady bug print on it and it is honestly my go to for any brunch/spring/summer occasion!!)
Pants: I'm sorry, I HAVE to cheat and pick 2: J Brand 620 skinny jeans and J Brand 811 luxe twill skinnies. seriously heaven!!!! I live in both.
T-shirt: I'm not much of a plain t-shirt gal, but the basic tee's at anthropologie are my go-to. they aren't as "basic" as a simple Gap tee but they are so easily transitioned into different outfits!
Bag: at the moment, my Marc Jacobs "too hot to handle" satchel in the deep green!
Make-up: my Anastasia brow wiz pencil, Nars laguna bronzer and Loreal telescopic mascara are must haves!
Body: St. Ive's  "skin renewing" body lotion
Perfume: My signature scents are Chanel 'Chance' and Gucci 'Guilty'.
Face: Ponds moisturizer! (a favorite among all of the girls in my house. soooo amazing and I never hear anyone talk about it! affordable and works so well)
Lips: Smith's rosebud salve (sephora or anthropologie), Mac myth lipstick and Nars turkish delight gloss!

Get me a cosmo was a fan of Hannah's previous blog which is currently undergoing a facelift, so look out for it soon…have fun falling in love with her style and friendly personality!

THIS COULD BE PARADISE

Sadly I have a lifelong dream to be a socialite/ famous journalist which is not something I like to admit because of the superficial elements. I don't care about being rich or being stalked by paparazzi but I would love the designer clothes and VIP party invites.

A few weeks ago me, along with my super-cool mother received an invitation to the VIP opening night of Koko Black in Rundle Mall. I literally counted down the days until the party and I was so excited. I've been to a few of these kinds of events before and they are always incredible. I remember attending the opening of KingPin in Norwood and being starstruck by ex-Australia's Next Top Model mentor, Josh Flinn (who was looking mighty fabulous that night by the way).

I have been vegan for the last month and so I was a little excited about consuming something unhealthy and incredibly delicious on the night and boy I was not disappointed. When we walked in, literally I nearly cracked it because the ColdPlay song, 'Paradise' was playing and I laughed at myself for figuring out that connection…yes I'm bloody hilarious!

We were served a velvet mousse cake with chocolate and nuts in the middle which was UH-MAZE-ING! I downed that quickly and washed it down with a fresh iced-chocolate which was indescribable. The next course was a rich mousse in small little bowls which I followed with a beautiful Santa Vittoria Sparkling Mineral Water.

The last course was like a million layer affogato-cake-thing which was actually the best thing I have ever tasted. Seriously it was like a rave party in my mouth. After that, the owner of Koko Black, Shane gave a welcome and thank-you speech to his guests and staff. I, along with my wingman mother went for an adventure upstairs which was very intimate and lovely, perfect for a cute winter date or a binge, (depending on your mood but it could be both!)

We then admired the beautiful hand-crafted chocolates on display. Such care has been taken into preparing each one and I think I wouldn't be able to eat one because of it's beauty. But lets be honest I could down ten of them and not feel guilty.

At the conclusion of the night we spent nearly half an hour talking to Shane and the marketing director for Koko Black who summers in New York City, just casually. She also fan-girled and showed us a selfie of her and Chris Martin for ColdPlay when she met him at a friends party last year. JEALOUSY!!! "Maybe that's why Chris and Gwyneth broke up" chimed in my mum? Joking obviously but we all found this hilarious. Don't judge we were all on a sugar high.

After we said our good-byes and thank-yous we received a beautiful goodie bag to take home full of Koko Black goodness and a complimentary ticket for a hot-chocolate on a card so we can come back again and enjoy the deliciousness.

Overall I would 150% recommend Koko Black, the service is world-class, the chocolate is to-die-for and the interior design and layout of the space is really quite beautiful.

TO MARKET, TO MARKET

I have been quite inactive for the last few weeks so my apologies. I don't really have a good reason because I've been on Uni holidays also which makes me feel a little guilty. Anyway enough of that, I have started visiting the Adelaide Central Markets twice a week for the last month for fresh produce, coconuts and other health foods. Jem, one of my best gal pals usually joins me because she is one of the only people that really get my passion for good, organic food and fabulous fashion. After shopping we stopped off at the T-Bar for a pit stop and coffee/ tea fix. When I got home I made some delish kale chips and ate them while sipping on a coconut.

PREPPY

I have been incredibly lucky the past week. The salon where I get my hair done has just taken on a new apprentice and she needs a hair model to practise blowdrying on. Since I have been a customer for the last twenty billion years (literally) they chose me and so now I get to enjoy a free blow-dry twice a week. That means no more dry/ afro hair and it puts another five hours into my free time per week.

On a side note, continue to pray for the victims and families of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. It's been two weeks and nothing has been found but there is always hope.

Getting on to my outfit for today, I was just going out for a casual lunch with the mother and threw on a collared shirt with a jumper over the top.

GARDEN GRUNGE

I had a friends 20th on the weekend and when the description said, 'Garden Party, wear floral dresses,' my first though was…shit I just threw out all of my floral girlie dresses in order to transform my look into a more polished/ grunge (totally different I know) look. So basically I was left with the old, "I have nothing to wear," excuse until I remembered this dress which I wore to my youth formal. I got it in Sydney from a pop-up shop for $20.00 and it makes my legs look long and skinny, (BOOM!)

I teamed it with my leather jacket and fabulous RMK's and I apologise as I think they have both been featured the last two times on this blog, I just can't get enough of them! On a side note, the quality of the photos is horrible as I use my iPhone and not a proper camera and so sometimes the pictures can work, but if the lighting is shocking so is the picture!

LACK OF COLOUR

My mum always said that when I reached a certain age that I would start wearing black all the time but I just scoffed and rolled my eyes. Well know, mum I must say you were right. I went to the Royal Croquet Club again last night for the final Saturday and had to throw this outfit together really quickly as I worked all afternoon.

My best friend and I saw a circus show called Twisted Lollipop and don't get me wrong, their talent was unreal and I was enviously eyeing of their biceps and six packs half the time, but the way it was presented was just weird. My favourite bit was the acrobatics in the silks halfway through which came at a good time because the expression on my face was a big WTF.

We then hung around in Shanty Town for a bit and met some British guys who were gorgeous and had the voices similar to that of Ed Westwick. But turns out they thought we were 21 and they were like all 25+, dammit why am I not older.

After a big of a dance and more ciders from the Japanese garden we clambered into a taxi and made our way home. A great night overall and I desperately hope the Croquet Club returns soon...and that I actually get to play Croquet!

(P.S sorry for the crappy photo quality, this was at 1:30 am)

ATTITUDE

Two posts in one day is really just my way of passing time while I wait for the silly uni library site to let me on as apparently 'only a certain amount of users can view a document at a time' which is there way of saying, 'sucker, you should have done it earlier'. Well I got through half earlier this week but decided I would do the rest tonight as I had nothing on this afternoon and what happens, Everyone else has gone, 'ahh shit I haven't done the reading yet'. So I sat at the front of a queue for an hour waiting for some one to finish reading the twenty something pages until I had to give up and go to church. I'm trying again at 11pm but no now there is six other people in the line for the document. Screw life!

Anyway on a more positive note, I really love this outfit I wore to church today and I think it will work quite well for university. These boots are amazing and have been worn quite a lot so they have a real tough-and-you-better-know-it attitude about them. My messy low bun compliments the dress and jumper making it feel quite undone and relaxed.
