On the first glance at the glossy brochures advertising universities, you see immaculately groomed, good-looking people smiling as if sitting through two hour lecture is no BFD. Once you sit through these without a morning coffee you realise that caffeine should be your best friend again and then go and spend $20 a week at 'Please Say Please", (which is totally worth the daily $3.50) Well as I try to lead a healthy lifestyle and limit myself to three coffees a week, I need a few certain things to help me survive the long lectures and tutorials at uni. The only thing that has the same affect on me as coffee and makes me feel amazing, is a daily green detox juice consisting of kale, lemon, celery, apple and watermelon from the 'Eat Clean Organic Kitchen,' on James Place. Cold pressed juices are God's gift to this earth, they actually are incredible, but at $8.50 a pop, my wallet can't cope and so I must prioritise my juice indulgence to certain days of the week that I actually need it, (A.K.A Mondays!) So I usually pack a fruit salad of peaches, grapes, blueberries and raspberries along with a handful of almonds and raw cashews to see my through until lunch time.
Aside from my hunger cravings which usually involves pizza and some form of mexican food, I put together a bag full of mostly red essentials that I need for uni every day, have a squiz at just some of the items I fit into my back-breaking load every day!
Bag and Wallet:
Michael Kors - what a genius!
Electronics:
My iPad mini - cheers family, great b'day pressie!
Macbook Pro laptop - It's an apple product, need I say more?
iPhone - I fel lost without it.
Ear phones - So I can blast my Fall Out Boy, Save Rock and Roll album all day long.
Beauty Products:
Jurlique rose water spray mist - to keep my face feeling hydrated after all the quick sprints to consecutive lectures and tutorials.
Planet Earth coconut and lime intensive repair hand cream - working at a smoothie bar my hands get quite dry and this cream works wonders.
Marc Jacobs Daisy - This mini fragrance is perfect for those moments when I think, shit I forgot to put on perfume this morning or just want to smell expensive.
Food/ Drinks:
Drink bottle - I cannot begin to stress how good and important water is for the body and usually down one of these per hour. (and its red!)
T2 Travel mug - to satisfy my tea love while on the move
T2 all sorts one - a collection of the best flavours in tea bags, no mess, no stress! (The ginger and lemongrass is my fave)
Accessories:
Ray-Ban sunglasses - because protecting your eyes with designer duds is important
Kardashian glasses - I loathe the Kardashians and their taste in fashion but these glasses are actually not that bad.
Shelta umbrella - Yes its red.
Stationary:
Kikki K - everything is red and from Kikki K (why? why not?) with the exception of the red diary which was a freebie in O-Week (Boom free stuff!)
And then add in ten kilos of textbooks and readers and I'm good to go! So far I am loving university but the one thing I hate is trying to plan an outfit thats different than the one I wore to the previous tutorial, and then I have to think no someone from this other tutorial is in that one so I can't wear that outfit for another week or two, ah first world problems! Wish me luck, hopefully I don't get lost this week.
